Sonakshi’s Comments Draw Fire from Shatrughan Sinha for Mukesh Khanna

SHATRUGHAN

Shatrughan Sinha has now opened up on Mukesh Khanna making a statement regarding bringing up his daughter Sonakshi Sinha.

Shatrughan Sinha has taken up the cudgels in defence of daughter Sonakshi Sinha against a verbal attack by fellow actor Mukesh Khanna. After Khanna questioned Sonakshi’s upbringing, the actor herself fired back at him. Now, Shatrughan has also questioned his jibe and slammed him for the statement.

Shatrughan Sinha Criticizes Mukesh Khanna

Mukesh Khanna, in an interview recently, bashed Sonakshi Sinha after recalling her old stint on “Kaun Banega Crorepati,” where she could not answer a question regarding ‘Ramayana.” In turn, Sonakshi responded to this open letter. Now, Shatrughan Sinha has also taken a swipe at Mukesh Khanna.

In an interview, he said: “I think someone has a problem with the fact that Sonakshi has not answered a question about the Ramayana. First of all, what gives that person the right to be an expert on anything to do with the Ramayana? And who appointed this person as the guardian of the Hindu religion?”

Shatrughan Sinha said, “I am very Proud of all my Three children

The elder actor then came back in for her daughter, adding that just not answering a question about the Ramayana does not ‘make her not a good Hindu’. He said, “I am very proud of all my three children. Sonakshi became a star on her own. I never needed to launch her career. She is a daughter that any father would be proud to have. Not answering a question on the Ramayana doesn’t disqualify Sonakshi from being a good Hindu. She doesn’t need a certificate of approval from anyone”.

Mukesh Khanna vs Sonakshi Sinha

Open letter to Mukesh by Sonakshi as he ridiculed her for being unable to answer a question considering the reference to Hanuman from Ramayana and subsequently link it to her Hindu upbringing. “I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not correctly answer a question about the Ramayana on some reality show I attended many years back. First, let me remind you the same question was asked to two women on the hot seat that day, and they both did not give the answer, but you referred to only my name and no one else’s, which is quite obvious,” she wrote.

“Sure, I might have forgotten that day, a rather common trait of humanity, and who had the Sanjeevani Boots given for, but evidently, you have also forgotten some lessons of forgive and forget which were taught by Lord Rama himself.

If Lord Rama forgives Manthara, if he forgives even Kaikeyi, if he can forgive Ravan after such a tremendous battle, surely, you can just drop this very little thing in comparison. Not that I am seeking your forgiveness. But definitely, I would want you to forget and stop bringing up the same incident time and again to be back in the news at the expense of me and family.”

In reply, Mukesh Khanna said to News9 he was taken aback that it had taken her ‘so long’ to come out with a statement, but reiterated what was mentioned earlier. He went on to say, “My intention was to react towards today’s generation, which by the elder’s means is referred to as ‘Gen-Z’; has made slaves of today’s Google world and mobile phones. Their knowledge can only be found in and through Wikipedia and some social interaction on YouTube. And here, I had a hi-fi case before me of her, which I could teach others – fathers, sons, daughters.”
