Daaku Maharaaj Box Office Powerful Triumph: NBK Starrer Smashes ₹100 Crore Worldwide

The much awaited film Daaku Maharaaj starring Nandamuri Balakrishna (NBK) is storming at the box office and has reached a rare milestone, marking his fourth consecutive ₹100 crore film. This comes after the super success of Akhanda in 2021 and reiterates that NBK has well and truly cemented his box office credentials with a robust performance.

The total Indian box office gross of the movie has now reached ₹85 crore, courtesy of the second weekend collection of ₹14 crore. Worldwide gross has easily breached the ₹100 crore mark by adding USD 1.90 million or ₹16.50 crore of overseas earnings to its kitty, solidifying the status of NBK as one of the most bankable stars in Telugu cinema.

Daaku Maharaaj opens strong but trends downhill as compared to the holiday weekend; it opened on a high of ₹26.00 crore and crashed down on the second day, that is Monday at ₹14.50 crore:

Although the collection suffered post-holiday, the film collected well during the weekend and reflected its high standing amongst hardcore fans and even lighter viewership segments.

Mixed Financial Results for Distributors

Whereas Daaku Maharaaj has been a commercial success overall, the financial returns for the distributors differ from place to place. In the case of Nizam and Ceded, distribution rights have come at a premium price. This has resulted in total losses for some distributors. The costs were, however broke even by coastal Andhra as the region enjoyed all high ticket prices.

The collections of the film in Nizam and Ceded territories are below par, and it could have easily meant that it does not cross ₹100 crore mark in Telugu states. Such a feat would be historic for NBK. Even so, it is going to close at ₹95-97 crore in AP/TS-a little behind what NBK earlier release Veera Simha Reddy had managed to. The Sankranti holidays were a very important factor during the initial days of the movie, which raised the collections substantially. But with the Sankranti season coming to an end, collections plummeted to a great extent. Analysts feel that it would have taken a lot to reach the number it has already achieved without Sankranti.

Dakaamu Maharaaja has the current run of successful ventures at the box office – that comprises Akhanda, Veera Simha Reddy, and the latest addition: Bhagavanth Kesari. Also, crossing 100 crore WW, his recent film now joins the bandwagon of superstardom by adding consistent hits on the records for him.
