Bollywood star kids Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor are set to make their big-screen debut with the much-awaited rom-com Loveyapa, which is all set to release on February 7, 2025. As the release date of the film approaches, fans are excited to see fresh faces of the new stars, but it is not just their film that has been drawing attention. The couple has recently revealed their favorite on-screen couple; their surprising pick has shocked most of the audience.

During a light-hearted Q&A with the well-known Bollywood journalist Faridoon Shahryar, Junaid and Khushi were asked to confess what was their favourite romantic jodi in Bollywood. And the answer? Somewhat surprising. While one would have liked to see Junaid opt for legendary on-screen couple Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta as his dream romance, and Khushi choose no less than the sublime Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, they both instantly concurred on one pair above all others: Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.

This chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol has etched it in the history of Bollywood as one of the most iconic and long-lasting on-screen pairings. Be it Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) or the newer version of Dilwale, fans have been mesmerized by them for decades. Their romance is something that has stuck in the hearts of many generations, and this is what seems apparent as Khushi and Junaid share admiration.

The Magic of SRK and Kajol: A Romance That Transcends Generations

Both Junaid and Khushi spoke passionately about the magical chemistry of SRK and Kajol, citing their iconic roles in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, DDLJ, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. While Junaid quickly agreed with Khushi’s answer, Khushi couldn’t help but tease him, jokingly saying, “I’ve just stolen the answer! “Their love for this iconic duo is something that fans can surely relate to.

Even though they come from star-studded parentage, it pretty much goes without saying that they are fully aware of the ageless appeal of Shah Rukh and Kajol.”.

Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have worked together in various films throughout the years and their on-screen chemistry has made them one of the most loved pairs in Bollywood. From the romantic drama Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge to the emotional depth of My Name is Khan, their pairing continues to capture audiences around the world. Khushi, daughter of the late Sridevi, who gave memorable performances in Chandni and Lamhe, and Junaid, son of Aamir Khan, whose romantic roles in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Dil Chahta Hai set a new standard for love stories in Bollywood, have grown up with the magic of these unforgettable films.

But while choosing their favorites, they both chose the same power couple that has enchanted generations: Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.

Junaid and Khushi: Emerging Stars with Their Own Unique Chemistry

Loveyapa starring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor is ready for release. As they are stepping into shoes filled with high expectations, they, both, are gearing up for a romantic comedy. The film, Advait Chauhan’s directorial venture, is set to bring a fresh wave of romance on the silver screen. Along with fresh faces, veteran actors will be ruling the show, not just Junaid and Khushi. The pivotal roles include Ashutosh Rana, Sathyaraj, Kiku Sharda, Yogi Babu, and Grusha Kapoor. Loveyapa combines the old Indian romance with a new twist, which makes it one of the much-awaited films in 2025.

Under the arc lights is where Junaid and Khushi have seen the best years of their life, but off-screen, what the personalities are shaping up to be in these two children is almost as remarkable as what they may go on to bring on screen. In an interview, they confess that SRK and Kajol are their favorite heroes and heroine, which makes the audience go soft. As a budding talent, these starlets are inheriting not just legacy but defining individual journeys within this industry.

The Magic Chemistry in Bollywood’s Romantic Comedies: Will Loveyapa Help Unleash its Spell?

When Loveyapa will soon roll in the silver screens, the very chemistry it talks about- central to Junaid and Khushi- looks ready to drive. Still, does the chemistry translate for Junaid and Khushi what Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol have with themselves?

It’s no surprise that romantic comedies can touch hearts after a long time. This film, too, will not make any exception and surely Junaid and Khushi will try their best to give some impact in the film.

Audiences are desperate to see what new life they infuse into their roles, particularly given how dynamic their chemistry is. But while fans are champing at the bit for this film, it is apparent that a deep respect by the duo for Bollywood’s greatest romantic pairings-à la SRK and Kajol-will serve them in bringing authenticity and a timelessness to their performances.
