Game Changer USA Premiere Advance Box Office: Shocking Slow Start for Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s Thriller, Sells tickets worth USD 60k
The much-awaited political action thriller Game Changer, with Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, will grace the theatres of every country on January 10, 2025. Helmed by ace filmmaker S Shankar, this movie marks his first Telugu directorial. Despite the immense buzz generated with the film, the USA premiere advance ticket sales haven’t been too hot of a start as tickets worth USD 60,000 have sold so far.
Slow Advance Bookings for Game Changer
Tollywood films have gained a robust footing in the overseas market, especially in the United States. But Game Changer appears to be lagging behind all other recent pan-Indian blockbusters. Advance ticket sales for the movie stand at USD 60K. This is relatively meager, especially when compared with other films such as Devara: Part 1 that ran with Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor on less screens and shows, raking in USD 150K. Salaar, Pushpa 2, and Kalki 2898 AD had better advance bookings for the film.
With 24 days left for its release, the current trend suggests Game Changer could have a tough time achieving a USD 1 million advance booking unless a massive push in ticket bookings takes place. Ram Charan’s US promotions, scheduled to include an appearance at this month’s pre-release event in Texas, may help.
Ram Charan Sets Return to Silver Screen
Tollywood’s biggest star, Ram Charan, was last seen in a full-fledged role in SS Rajamouli’s global hit RRR (2022). The film featuring Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of that year worldwide. His performance was widely appreciated and thus his fans have been waiting for him to return in Game Changer. In a rather slow booking start to the advance bookings, it indicated that the film probably would have needed significant promotional support for it to reach an anticipated figure.

Earlier, his 2018 film 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, did pretty well but failed to meet the expectations.
With Game Changer, Shankar is likely to bring his signature grandeur to Telugu cinema. Whether the film can meet its box office goals remains to be seen.
North India Distribution Rights
The North Indian market rights of the film have been acquired by one of the leading distributors of Bollywood, Anil Thadani, for Rs 75 crore. According to reports, the deal is on an advance basis and may be renegotiated depending on the overall performance and buzz of the film closer to the release.
Can Game Changer Change the Game?
While there is a slow start for advance bookings, hopes are still high for Game Changer. Star value of Ram Charan and the directorial excellence of S Shankar can still build on to drive momentum towards the date of the film. Pre-release tours by Ram Charan in the US during January can also bring more audience towards the film.
