Kriti Sanon about Nepotism: ‘Bollywood Has a Smaller Role; Talent is Ultimately What Matters’
Kriti Sanon’s first film was Heropanti, for which she got the National Award for Best Actress for Mimi. Kriti Sanon is one actor who made it on her own terms in the Hindi film industry.
The actor started her Bollywood career opposite Tiger Shroff in the film Heropanti and went on to star in several successful films in the past years. The actor was at this year’s masterclass conducted at the ongoing 55th International Film Festival in Goa, where she gave a talk on nepotism. As per a report, she said that the industry is ‘not so much’ responsible for nepotism which is a cycle involving the audience and media also.
Kriti Sanon said regarding Nepotism:
“I feel at he masterclass session that the industry is not so much to blame for nepotism. It’s also the media and the audience. The audiences want to watch what the media is going to show about a few star kids. Since the audience is interested, the industry feels that since the audience is interested let us make a movie with them. So I think it’s a circle. However, I do believe that if you can do it you’ll get there- otherwise, you’re just not going to get there if there’s no talent and there’s no connect with the audience.”

It’s also media and audiences.” Since the audience loves them, they assume, “Let’s make a film with them.” So I think it’s a circle. But I believe that if you are talented you will get there. If you’re not talented, if there’s no connect with the audience then you will not get there.”
“It takes time for you to get those opportunities,” she continued, “especially when you don’t come from a film heritage. It takes time to be able to get those opportunities that you desire. It takes time for using one to also get those magazine covers. So everything is a bit of a struggle. But 2-3 films down, and if you keep working hard and if you are at it, nothing can stop you.”
