Ranbir Kapoor reacts to Criticism regarding Animal, as he states, ‘I agree, but…’
Ranbir Kapoor came back to a comment that more film release like Animal and Sanju shouldn’t be urged much.
Actor Ranbir Kapoor has reacted after a person slammed his films Animal (2023) and Sanju (2018) for the glorification of violence. The actor spoke about films and the responsibility of an actor at the on-going 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
Ranbir defended himself over criticism of Animal
One person claimed at the event that Sanju and Animal show that whatever happens, anything can be achieved with violence. He also said that the release of such films shouldn’t be encouraged much. The man also praised old films for their good stories.
Here’s what Ranbir said:
Reacting to this, Ranbir said, “I completely agree with your opinion. As an actor, it is our responsibility to bring movies which bring a positive change to the society. Having said that, I’m an actor, it’s very important that I also dabble in different genres and different characters and play varied roles. But what you are saying is absolutely correct. We have to be more responsible towards the kind of films we make.”
During the interaction on stage, Ranbir said, “I am extremely excited. He is my godfather. Everything I know about films, everything I know about acting, it is something I learnt from him.”
Ranbir is not new to working with the ace director. He previously worked as an assistant director on his film Black (2005) and went on to make his acting debut in Saawariya (2007). Ranbir added, “He hasn’t changed at all. He is extremely hard-working. All he thinks about is his movies. He just wants to speak about the character, he wants you to create, do something different.
