The Bollywood superstar recently sold a luxurious duplex apartment in Andheri, Mumbai, at an astonishing price of Rs 83 crore and reaped 168 percent return on investment on it.
Sales of the Luxury Duplex Flat
From papers for property registration received by SquareYards, the duplex flat is in “The Atlantis”-a luxury complex with an expansive carpet area of 5,185 sq ft. In addition, it has a sprawling terrace of 445.93 sqm or nearly 4,800 sq ft; no wonder the whole of the Mumbai skyline can easily be seen and viewed. Complete with six automated car parking makes this one among the exclusive ones around.
Vijay Singh Thakor and Kamal Vijay Thakor have bought this flat in the 27th and 28th floors. The registration documents of the property also reveal that this deal was cemented on January 17. For this, stamp duty worth Rs 4.98 crore has been paid, and registration fees of Rs 30,000 were paid.
Bachchan has bought this luxurious duplex in April 2021 for Rs 31 crores. It’s, therefore a very profitable sales deal in nearly three years.
Lease History with Kriti Sanon
Interestingly, the duplex was also a trophy property and source of rental income. In November 2021, the actress let it out to Bollywood’s Kriti Sanon. They settled for Rs 10 lakh a month, in addition to a security deposit of Rs 60 lakh. So, another stream of income was added to the asset before it was sold.
Amitabh Bachchan’s Real Estate Portfolio
It is not a single success of Bachchans in the real estate market. According to some sources, between 2020 and 2024, Bachchans have apparently invested about 200 crore rupees, which includes the investment into the residential as well as the commercial property.
Bachchans have invested over Rs 100 crores there in 2024, primarily in prime places in Mumbai- Oshiwara and Magathane in Borivali East. More importantly, this is a very happening locality having the layout of Lokhandwala Complex and superb road connectivity along with access to the Mumbai Metro.

The Bachchan family itself has been prudent and visioned in its real estate plan. High-rise developments within Oshiwara have appreciated substantially with the years and yielded significant increases in its investment. They have diversified in favor of optimizing benefits accrued from it through luxury apartments, business complexes, and rent-generating property.
He remains the market leader in real estate. He also hasn’t lost his pace professionally. The latest sighting of Amitabh Bachchan was in the big-ticket project of Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD. Deepika Padukone and Prabhas are also seen in this. Last year, he had shared screen space with Rajinikanth in Vettaiyan.
