Arjun Kapoor won hearts playing the role of Danger Lanka in the recent block buster hit, Singham Again, but fans found calling it a ‘re-birth’ for him rather unpalatable
This Diwali, Rohit Shetty and his league of superstars came to theatres with Singham Again which was no less than a firecracker! The cop drama shook the box office and delivered what was promised— a massy entertainer.
While Ajay Devgn returned as DCP Bajirao Singham with Kareena Kapoor Khan as Avni, Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh joined them as DCP Veer Sooryavanshi and ACP Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba. Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff were also roped in to feature as part of the fantasy police this year. However, what shocked everyone was Arjun Kapoor, who was cast to play the role of Danger Lanka, the very embodiment of Ravan.
It was a refreshing piece of seeing Arjun in the villainous role and many fans went ahead even to equate him with the glorious Bobby Deol who mesmerized us with his performance as the villain of Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal (2023). Thanking for love he received, Arjun recently called Singham Again his ‘rebirth’. Well, the film is a block-buster and fans did laud Arjun. But the web was divided after this particular remark by the actor. Meanwhile, some actually compared Arjun with actress Parineeti Chopra after the Diljit Dosanjh-starrer Amar Singh Chamkila received critical acclaim. For instance, one netizen claims, “Bro is giving parineeti after Chamkila,” while another comment reads: “he needs to calm down. He’s doing what Parineeti did after Amar Singh Chamkila and now she’s nowhere to be seen.” A few even branded Arjun as ‘delulu’. However, there are some fans who seem to believe that Arjun is trying to say something good.
