A shocking incident occurred at the Bandra residence of actor Saif Ali Khan in the early hours of January 16, 2025. The actor and his wife, Kareena Kapoor, were thrown into a terrifying situation when an intruder broke into their home with violent intentions. The attacker, who was later caught by the police, was Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, who attacked Saif with several stabs and left him. In the chaos, a real hero who emerged was their domestic help, Eliyamma Philip.

While the Saif Ali Khan story is quite interesting about how he was brave in front of the attacker, what is remarkable is the courageous acts of Eliyamma. Though it was dangerous, she stood between Saif and the intruder and therefore saved him from further damage. With this, she went through some injuries during the fight, but still did have enough time to make sure Saif and Kareena responded and ran from the intruder’s reach. By these selfless acts, Saif and his family were finally safe, as the acts of Eliyamma was an integral part of the investigation case.

The Shocking Attack That Gripped the Country: What Exactly Happened in Saif Ali Khan’s Residence?

The attack on Saif Ali Khan and his family was nothing short of traumatic. It was around 2:30 am on January 16 when an intruder entered Saif and Kareena’s house while they were staying with their youngest son at home. The fact that the intruder was in the house remained unknown to the couple. The female staff member, Eliyamma, raised an alarm as she found him in the house. Saif and Kareena reached the place in time when they saw Shehzad menacingly handling Eliyamma. There was a fight between Saif, who happened to be a guardian, and the trespasser; consequently, many stab wounds surfaced on Eliyamma’s body.

The attacker, who later revealed his motives, was arrested by the police. Mohammad Shehzad, a Bangladeshi national, targeted Saif’s residence because of his financial status, hoping to steal valuables to escape his dire situation and assist his sick mother. However, his criminal intentions were foiled by Eliyamma’s quick thinking and bravery.

A Hero’s Courage: Eliyamma Philip’s Role in Saving Saif Ali Khan’s Life

What makes this incident even more remarkable is the extraordinary bravery of Eliyamma Philip. Not only did she risk her own life to shield Saif from the attacker, but her quick thinking and courageous actions also played a key role in the ongoing investigation. After the incident, Eliyamma was immediately taken for medical treatment, where she was tended to for the injuries sustained while protecting Saif. She has gained much appreciation for her selflessness at such a time of danger. Many call her the unsung hero in that very shocking event.

Saif Ali Khan, who was operated on to take out a three-inch-long knife fragment stuck in his back, has profusely praised Eliyamma. He said he wanted to meet her after his recovery, thanks to her courage. Kareena Kapoor said she was thankful to Eliyamma as it was due to her heroics that her family was safe.

Investigation and the Motive of the Perpetrator: Why was Saif Ali Khan’s home targeted?

The new information regarding the attacker is coming out with the development of the case. According to Times of India, Mohammad Shehzad, a man from Bangladesh, attacked Saif’s house because he was very poor. He wanted to commit robbery so that some good luck would bring money to spend on his mother’s treatment who is ailing. He planned to escape to Bangladesh after committing the crime, but police caught him.

The research has come to prove that Shehzad is very random with his target choice of a victim-for, instead of targeting Saif, he went for some rich man for the purpose that would fetch some money for himself-and the naked brazenness has left quite many appalled, not so much by the brutality but so much by how vulnerable the whole family was. Still, to this day, damage might have been infinitely worse if done by Eliyamma.
