Do Patti Movie Review: A Thrilling Tale of Twins, Tension, and Missed Chances

Do Patti

Do Patti gather the star power of Kriti Sanon, Kajol, and Shaheer Sheikh into a thriller filled with drama, suspense, and emotional twists. Though it promises great and interesting start to the movie, the film loses its grip on as the story unfolds. Let’s look closer at what makes Do Patti watchable and where it falters.

Storyline: Love, Rivalry, and Dark Secrets

Do Patti, the story of twin sisters, Shailly and Saumya. An eclipsed past created an unequal personality level in them: Shailly has always been overconfident and so strong-willed; whereas Saumya is softer and fragile. When both come head-to-head for a single fellow, played by Shaheer Sheikh, with his charming yet manipulative nature, the crossing point will be reached as all that follows is a chain reaction to deception, conflict, and chaos.

Captivating the viewers with its suspense and psychology twist, it starts extremely strong. The story deals with too many subplots and unnecessary turns within that make it very messy, and the buildup is incredible but totally loses direction towards the second half of the movie, making it almost impossible for viewers to really stay involved.

Star Performances: Who Stole the Show?

Do Patti

Kriti Sanon is the heart and soul of the film. She brings both Shailly and Saumya with great power and believability that speaks to her as an actor. The duality of the sisters plays out in her with very subtle nuances that make it easy to root for both characters, even as the story takes darker turns.

Shaheer Sheikh shines through in the role of the rich, complicated man sandwiched between the two sisters. He begins very promisingly but gets unbelievable once the script starts to dip. His work is creditable, though the storyline does not leave much scope for him; thus, he fails to carry off the second half effectively.

Kajol, a veteran actress, plays a sympathetic mediator who tries to find out the truth behind the drama unfolding. Though her performance is full of heart and sincerity, her character is not developed, and the film doesn’t make the most of her presence. It leaves her role more like an add-on rather than a necessary part of the plot.

Supporting Cast: Tanvi Azmi, Vivek Mushran, and Brijendra Kala support the film. The character they play does not carry much importance, but the scenes they appear in are crucial. Do Patti, however, is deprived of the development these actors would have brought to make it more interesting.

Highs of the Film

Acting by Kriti Sanon: Kriti is present in two characters; all the scenes are supported with her acting. There is a level of excitement while watching in the screen presence of the actor.

First Half Pacing: This film, Do Patti was rightly paced as there was suspense in that, and the first half surely promises one to be a thriller

Cinematography and Moods: The entire movie would work with its excellent cinematography, especially the darkness in the background and also with the moods that actually keep the plot moving while suspenseful throughout for the audiences.

Emotional Depth: The movie tries to reach deep into the themes of sibling rivalry, betrayal, and trust and creates some emotionally resonant moments with the audience.

Lows of the Movie

Complex Script: Do Patti introduces too many twists and subplots in the second half that make the movie feel cluttered and confusing. It takes away from the actual plot, making it lose focus.

Poor Characters: Kajol and Shaheer Sheikh promise well but are not the highlight for themselves. It seems to be a support ensemble in the film, supporting Kriti as it gets built up.

Dragged Second Half: The general pace of the movie suffers after an electrifying first half, thus dragging it rather than making it suspenseful. The same is the case with its climax also.

Predictable Moments: While Do Patti wants the unpredictable and suspenseful ending of the film, a frequent movie patron can easily get some guesses about the storyline.

Direction and Writing: A Two-Edged Sword

Do Patti

With a story-telling style woven around multiple layers of characters and sharp emotional peaks, Kanika Dhillon proves directionally good with the latest endeavor, but she seems very keen to pile all those multiple layers at the times when it tends to fall as something heavy to hold back for.

That is where it stutters in the proper cinematic portrayal of its story in half and then progresses slowly afterward in the movie that really has a grip within that period.

Final Take: Is it Worth a Watch?

For psychological thriller fans, Do Patti can easily be a good watch that has the right doses of strong performances and layered storylines. Kriti Sanon is absolutely strong in the two sisters with which she plays to give a showcase of range as well as dedication to characters. The uneven second half and lack of focus would make it wanting from more viewers.
