Kalki 2: Producer Aswini Dutt confirms big Updates

The super success of Kalki 2 898 AD has thrown open doors for its sequel, Kalki 2, which fans are still in a whirl about. The movie, directed by Nag Ashwin starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan, turned out to be one of the top-grossing Telugu films of 2024. Now, the producer of this sequel, Aswini Dutt, shared some interesting facts about it, which should up the fan enthusiasm.

Three Leads in Focus

Aswini Dutt told Gulte that Kalki 2 would be set on three key leads, that will be done by Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Kamal Haasan.

The first was shot so fast that while Big B’s role has been weighty enough, Kamal Haasan could appear only for a shot. That will let Kamal have a much greater role with maximum screen time. “Maximum screen time goes to Kamal Haasan for the film. The scenes featuring Prabhas and Kamal would be interesting”, said the producer.

Amitabh Bachchan’s role would still work since he did in the past with the growing relevance that Deepika Padukone would gain in the film story line. There is no newcomer to be brought into this film, hence they would retain the same audience that fell in love with the star cast.

Kamal Haasan: The Power Behind His Revival

Speaking only to Pinkvilla, Kamal Haasan finally clears the lid on why he signed on to do the Kalki franchise. “The promise that was made during the first was a more considerable role in the sequel,” revealed Kamal why he took up the offer to star in Kalki 2898 AD.

“I signed Kalki 2898 AD for the second part. My role in the first part was small, but the sequel intrigued me. The team’s trust in my abilities and their vision for the next chapter was what convinced me to come on board,” said Haasan.

What Fans Can Expect in Kalki 2

Since the pre-production stage of Kalki 2 has already begun, the movie will take the story to a whole new level. No hint about the details of the plot, but more complex character arcs, emotional depth, and dynamic interactions between lead actors have been indicated by the producers.

Chemistry between Prabhas and Kamal Haasan’s characters shall be the strong highlight of it, with every scene of both of them seeming to be as intense as much as they might be a delightful watch. For the fans of Deepika Padukone’s character, as well, their character development seems to add significantly towards the story too.

Kalki 2898 AD, the movie having been completely a blockbuster with also being one of the highest grossing of its time is bringing sky-screaming high expectations for this sequel.
