This Thursday, the film’s studio has announced the slate. Maddock Films, which has created such an actor-studded universe, will open in 2025 with the launch of the film Thama, which is reported to feature Ayushmann Khurrana as vampire, all set for release during the Diwali holiday, right after that will hit the theaters, Shakti Shalini, on December 31.

The excitement and suspense in the horror-comedy universe will be further enhanced with the day Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2 unleashes on August 14, along with Chamunda on December 4, in 2026.
The next year brings no cheering because the Bhediya universe promises to bring us Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor Stree 3, slated to be released on August 13. Weeks after that, on December 24, Maha Munjya will be shown in theatres. Finally, in 2028, this universe will bow over the majestic releases of Pehla Mahayudh, which hits the screens on August 11, and Doossra Mahayudh, which falls on October 18, right in the midst of Diwali celebrations.

The main house has shared the movie poster with the release dates on social media. The caption for the post said, “Dinesh Vijan brings the genre-defining lineup of #MaddockHorrorComedyUniverse 8 theatrical releases that will take you on a wild ride of laughter, spooks, thrills, and screams!”

What to expect…

This production house made a killing in the year 2018, striking gold with the release of its horror-comedy, Stree, and creating magic at the box office. This motivated the house to explore further topics in the supernatural arena and link them to one another somehow.

To the production house, Dinesh Vijan stated, “At Maddock, whatever we believe in is innovation and entertainment. We have created interesting characters grounded in India’s rich culture and heritage, who resonate with the audience”.

“This strong connection has made our stories not just relatable, but they’re also meaningful to the audience. Further, with a passionate and loyal fan base, we are now eyeing something much larger: a cinematic universe that brings to life never-before-seen amazing characters and their stories. We absolutely look forward to taking audiences on this journey through 2028 and beyond: and we are just kicking off.”

Calling off speculation problems

Shraddha speaks about the grand success of the franchise, “The first part of the franchise had immense love and accolades. It all started there. Hats off to the director, writer, and producer for cracking the sequel. It is very wrong to assume that a sequel is a thing to do; again, a sequel must have enough good stuff in it to go to theatres and earn a real appreciation. To crack a sequel, they have gone through the making of a sequel and cracked the story of Stree 2. It came fully packed with entertaining factors, brilliant cast and really entertaining dialogues. I reckon this is a fabulous team effort. It was pure cinematic joy,” she says, “And ultimately, the audience decides, right? They leave their homes seeking entertainment and we are happy we could deliver.”
