Pushpa 2 Global Box Office Sensation: Allu Arjun Targets an Unstoppable Record-Breaking Rs 235 Crore Opening
Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, is all set to make history at the global box office. Sukumar’s film is all set for a big release on December 5 with the special premiere shows in India and the U.S. on December 4. Pushpa 2 is going to have a record opening day, possibly the biggest ever, given that it has already broken the advance booking records with huge buzz and the widest ever release of an Indian film on around 12,000 screens.

The Rule had opened in phases on Saturday and have been phenomenal thereafter. The film has collected Rs 70 crore so far in advance bookings for its December 5 release, apart from Rs 7 crore in select premiere shows on December 4. This puts the total advance booking figure in India at Rs 77 crore.
Of the Rs 70 crore advance bookings, it is the Telugu version which is at an impressive Rs 38 crore followed by the Hindi version at Rs 27 crore. Internationally, pre-sales have reached Rs 35 crore for the opening day, including premiere show revenues. This puts the overall global pre-sale figure for Pushpa 2 at close to Rs 112 crore.
The final pre-sale count is expected to reach Rs 90 crore to Rs 100 crore in India alone, setting a new benchmark for opening-day advance bookings.
Pushpa 2 is expected to collect Rs 170 crore in India on the opening day, and Rs 65 crore from the international market. That would be a record opening day worldwide collection of Rs 235 crore.
In India, the Hindi dubbed version and Telugu markets will make most of the shares. In fact, both the dubbed version and Telugu markets will mint more than Rs 70 crore. Here is a detailed estimate on the opening day:
North India- Hindi Version: Rs 70 crore
Andhra Pradesh & Telangana: Rs 73 crore
Karnataka: Rs 15 crore
Tamil Nadu: Rs 8 crore
Kerala: Rs 7 crore
Overseas (Including Premieres): Rs 65 crore
It will be for the first time in the history of cinema that a film will open as #1 in India and the rest of the world too, breaking the decade-old record of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. The latter had been the gold standard since 2017 when it had minted Rs 200 crore on opening day.
Why Pushpa 2 is Going to Reign
A string of several factors has fired massive buzz over Pushpa 2. The first one, Pushpa: The Rise, became a robust base that made Allu Arjun in all parts of India. Also, with the dearth of suitable competition at the box office coupled with sky-high ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and an enormous fan following in North India and abroad has all been contributing factors toward its potential record-breaking performance.
The movie will mint around USD 7.25 million to USD 8.25 million (approx INR 62-72 crore) at the international box office on day one alone, which includes premiere shows. This is a milestone in Indian cinema in terms of international market success.
With Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun solidifies his place as one of the biggest drawpullers in Indian cinema. The success of the film becomes a yardstick for his ascension into the league of pan-Indian superstars, which ranks alongside icons like Prabhas and Shah Rukh Khan.
