Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana: Official Announcement with Poster and Release Dates

It is reported that the film of Namit Malhotra, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, which will feature Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in its lead roles, whose producer reportedly confirmed its release. The producer came forth to make the announcement on Instagram after first disclosing that it would be a two-part movie. According to his post, the first part of the movie Ramayana is going to hit the screen in the year 2026. The second part is going to hit the screens in the year 2027

A star-studded cast will mark the fantasy film, in which Ranbir Kapoor is supposed to play the role of Lord Ram, and Sai Pallavi will play Sita. Speaking for the first time about the film, Yash recently confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter India that he would be essaying the iconic role of Ravana, an exciting and challenging opportunity he was not ready to miss out on.

Finally, Yash has confirmed participation in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious adaptation of Ramayana where he will be playing the role of Ravana. Calling the role “an exciting challenge for any actor,” Yash said that he is more than prepared to step into the depth of this iconic character. Confirmation weeks of speculation for him has ended and people have been waiting for the man who will play the layered character of mythology.

Actor Yash finally buried all the prevalent rumors that said he had turned down the role of Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. He confirmed that indeed he was going to play the legendary antagonist in the much-awaited adaptation starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita.

He went on to add to the speculation by saying he really wanted to play Ravana and was looking forward to all the complexity the role comes with. He even stated that Ravana may possibly be the only character that would interest him in the whole epic tale, something that showed how eager he was to play the character

What Yash said

It was in the interview that Yash said he was having a conversation with Namit Malhotra of DNEG and Prime Focus when he was first told about Ramayana. He said he was impressed with his passion and that his thought process on the matter aligned with the vision. Then Namit asked him if he wanted to be a part of the film for the role of Ravana.

To which Yash replied, “If the character is treated like a character… if this does not happen today, then the film will not happen. To make a film of that kind of budget, you require such kind of actors coming together and working for the project. It has to be beyond your self and stardom.”. We have to put the project and the vision first. He said that the discussion went along and he decided to coproduce the film.

He continued: “It is a very interesting character. I wouldn’t have done it for any other reason. If you had asked me to play any other character in Ramayana probably not. For me, Ravana is the most exciting character to play as an actor so I really like the shades and the nuances of particular character. There’s vast scope to present it in a very different way. As an actor, I am very excited. Hopefully, it’s going to be a very unique approach to it.

Namit Malhotra released the poster of the film, which shows an arrow against a fiery sky. Speculations over the cast of Ramayana finally come to an end with reports stating that Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing the role of Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash confirmed his role as Ravana. Lara Dutta has been featured in the movie as Kaikeyi, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara.

At the beginning of this year, people got to see some behind-the-scenes peeks into the grand saga’s characters through the leaked image where they spotted Ranbir and Sai dressed in their attires at work, with mass enthusiasm building up as everybody looked forward to watching this film..
