Sanya Malhotra Criticized Societal Norms that Pressure Women to Quit their Jobs after Childbirth

Malhotra expressed how society often rhetorically asks a woman to sacrifice her career post-marriage and childbirth.
In her upcoming flim where she essays the role of an Indian housewife, actor Sanya Malhotra is expected to share her recent thoughts on those disparities in society between men and women. Sanya’s starrer, Mrs, has been directed by Arati Kadav and is expected to stream on Zee5 from February 7. The story revolves around a talented dancer whose life alters dramatically after she weds into a male-dominated family.
Sanya spoke about the Ironies of the Society

Sanya spoke about the ironies of the society that demands that women should not work after marriage and childbirth.
“There is a lot expected of women. It is only natural nowadays that a woman should quit her job after childbirth. But the child is of both parents, right? Raising the child is the responsibility of both parents. And therefore, one needs to create a balance. Such things may not be expressly stated by our characters, but many people serve as examples. One can learn something from them,” she elaborated.
The film director of “Mrs.” Arati Kadav also shared her views about it. In a talk with ANI, she said: “Women should not be forced to make that choice. The idea is that marriage is an institution, so there should be enough space for her career and dreams as well. Why should marriage diminish the ardor and ambition of women?”
Sanya Malhotra, who will be Playing the Role of an Indian Housewife in her Upcoming Film ‘Mrs’

Arati goes on asserting, “Why is it that a woman must be not so attractive, submissive, and dedicated while a man is just given permission to be prosperous with the support of her? If a man gets a good girl, his life blossoms. First mother takes care, then, wife should take care. Why this kind of thinking?”
Sanya, who will next be seen in the family drama, is not only her filmography that she can boast about; films such as Jawan, Dangal, Kathal, Pagglait, and so many others have filled her catalog. The only reason for the said accomplishment, according to the actor herself, is her hunger for acquiring new skills and an insatiable craving for a challenge.
“I really do not believe in putting myself inside a box. All through my life, I had taken bold steps. I love to learn new things. I mean, I am really relaxed in my life but when it comes to films, I say, right now, I want to try everything.” Sanya said.
The actor said with reference to her next projects: “This year, you will see me in various roles. In Sunny Sanskarai I am doing something which I have never done before. I like to challenge myself, and it is really important to keep challenging yourself.”
Mrs will release on February 7 on Zee5. The actor said that during the shoot of Jawan and Sam Bahadur, where she plays lead roles, she has prepared for the film.”I used to rehearse for Mrs. on the sets of Jawaan and Sam Bahadur. When I returned from the Sam Bahadur set, I would call Aarti to discuss the character,” Sanya informed.
Sanya made her Bollywood debut with the film Dangal, starring alongside Aamir Khan and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
