Siddharth’s Bold Statement Sparks Controversy Over Film Clash with Pushpa 2

Siddharth always has his quick wit and confidence. And he is back in the news again. During his rounds of promotion for his latest film Miss You, Siddharth also came out and said that he would release Miss You on the same date as that of Allu Arjun’s much-awaited film Pushpa 2: The Rule. He is the talk of the town, too, among fans and industry folks.

The Release Date Clash

Miss You, Directed by N. Rajasekar is hitting on November 29, 2024 and a week prior to that, Sukumar’s grand spectacle, Pushpa 2: The Rule is hitting on December 5, 2024. Considering one of the most-awaited sequels with this movie having a huge following and an epical scale of production, it naturally raised questions if Miss You would stand against this gigantic spectacle.

At a press meet, Siddharth was asked if he felt nervous about the timing of the release of his film. Being an actor who believes in himself and optimistic, he was not afraid of any such threats, declaring, “There are many things that need to happen if my movie is to be in theaters in the second week. The first of them is that my film should be good and liked by the audience.” They should be worried about the next movie and that is not my problem. It will go to the cinemas when it’s ready. A good cinema cannot be pulled out of theaters at least in this age where the social media awareness is big.

Be what it may, whatever be the consequence, Siddharth’s comment—especially, the phrase “They should be worried”—sounded mixed up. While many appreciated his confidence and faith in the movie, the Allu Arjun fans mostly deemed it unnecessary. The social networks are abuzz ever since discussing Siddharth’s statement.

Industry observers point to the gross disparity in scale of the two movies. While Pushpa 2 boasts a franchise, pan-India appeal and hype, the Miss You is a standalone film with nothing even close to that level of pre-release buzz.

In many ways, a good content always reaches its audience. With social media dominating the arena today, publicity and reach of any film gets highly amplified through these mediums. In that case, Miss You will survive if the film finds resonance with viewers despite the competition.

Siddharth’s Personal Milestones

While professional messages have been going around in his life, Siddharth’s personal life has received much mileage in recent times. The Hattrick actor married actress Aditi Rao Hydari on 16th September 2024, in a 400-year-old temple of Wanaparthy. Keeping most of their relationship as a secret affair, the couple treated their fans to the simplest yet adorable intimate moments of their wedding.

Fans would never be bored with the amorous antics of this dynamic duo, who have shared years together. Here’s what lovebirds Siddharth and Vidya Balan tell Vogue candidly over a chat when asked who between them says sorry first after a fight: “It’s usually me,” says Siddharth with a mischievous grin. “I do a lot of incorrect things in quick succession; half my time is spent saying sorry.”

The love story has drawn quite a lot of appreciation and also added a softer dimension to the otherwise bold and outspoken public persona that has been Siddharth up until now.

What’s Next for Miss You?

Despite all the noise that ensued during the fight with date due to the movie’s release, Siddharth is not bothered. Siddharth appears confident that Miss You has something great in store. Directed by N. Rajasekar, the film promises to be an exciting affair with Siddharth as its face.

Pushpa 2 is a test of release dates, but as Siddharth so aptly put it-the quality of the film decides its success. So when there’s the hype of Pushpa 2, Miss You will have to find its own place by relying on great word-of-mouth and reviews.

The Verdict on Siddharth’s Confidence

Siddharth always was a niche in the film industry. Here, he stands out due to his confidence related to work nature with frank observation. Of course at times it was hurtful but certainly has not made anyone other than him a believer of content-driven cinema rather than competition-driven dynamics.

The release dates approaching will actually decide which film will grab the audience. Be it against the glitter of Pushpa 2 or getting dwarfed by it, the fact is that Siddharth’s statements have already ensured all eyes are on him and his pending release.

Only time will tell if all that confidence translates into the real deal, but for now, Siddharth stays true to his non-apologetic self, sending up quite a storm and commanding attention with every move he makes.
