Malaika Arora has certainly been going through a very emotional roller coaster ride post the death of her father, Anil Mehta, who died in September this year. The whole drama first unfolded when Anil reportedly fell from the balcony of his Bandra home, and though the police have come out with a ruling it is a case of suicide, the shock leaves Malaika and her family in deep sorrow.

Despite the heavy weight of sorrow, Malaika returned to work about less than a month after his death. Honest reflection for the actress showed that going back to her professional commitments sort of ‘kept a bearing and perspective on things’ during such a very rough time.

In that candid opening, the actress shared how her loss personally affected her. According to her, she took all the time she needed to process the shock; it was not easy. “We all have to keep moving forward.that is what my father would have wanted for me,” she said.

Besides, she indicated it would be important that in staying focused that she allow herself space to grieve and heal. She quickly found that when she dove back into work, the structure was allowing her brain to remain remarkably well-balanced and sustained-which could easily give her the energy and clarity to better support her mom and the rest of the family as they coped in the wake of the tragedy.

A Plea for Privacy

Although she has to find her way through her own loss, Malaika also issued a kind plea for privacy, asking the public as well as the media to give her family space for sometime as the investigation continues. Her 49th birthday this year will probably not be the usual fanfare as she will be staying at home amidst close family members rather than waving to crowds. This time around, it was very much visible that it was a healing and family season instead of celebrations.

While she hasn’t really been keeping much under the envelope as far as details about the investigation of her father’s death goes, she has worked extensively on the different projects. She has been spotted judging the popular reality show India’s Best Dancer; she even explored new roles by becoming a business investor in a new startup-focused series.

Malaika had the busiest schedule all through. But even with all this emotional baggage over the past week or so, it is actually one project that’s closest to her heart. The actress has drop hints of some special project, referring to it as “an ode to my father.” Details of the project have not been revealed; however, the essence of what is coming from Malaika is evident: a way to pay tribute to her father.

Strength Through Work and Creativity

Professionally, Malaika hasn’t actually slowed down. She now has multiple brand endorsements and projects on her plate, proof that even when the axe of loss has been dropped upon you, she strives forward. Her strength and resilience are well seen in how she keeps her commitments but juggles her personal challenges at the same time. But working on her creative endeavors and staying in touch with her professional life, she says, has been grounding in a very turbulent time.

Malaika, it seems, in the last couple of weeks, had been walking through reflection, resilience, and healing. It certainly has not been easy, but through all this, she has constantly shown it is possible to grieve, heal, and yet continue living through life; she also maintains her commitment to her family and work with all of the emotional challenges placed upon her to deal with the death of a loved one.

A Tribute to Her Father’s Legacy

The inner strength that keeps her focused and energetic is very crucial evidence of her tremendous strengths. Wherein work was no longer a means of escapism for Malaika; rather, it helped keep her anchored while managing the complexities around grief. Aside from coping with the loss of her father, she is going through an investigation that has been taking place for a long time; all this would affect her career journey and even the tribute piece that she was working on for her father.

The resilience of Malaika in this most trying moment reminds us we can find strength to carry on and honor the memories of our loved ones even when it is at our most trying. And now she also re-enters the spotlight with renewed energy and focus, still set firmly on her family, her work, and her father’s legacy.
