Ajay Devgn and Kajol celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary recently, but this day, November 28, also marks a spot frenzy in their life together. It is the day that their film, Indra Kumar’s superhit romantic comedy Ishq, was released in cinemas in 1997.

But now, today, 28th November also marks another special announcement for the couple. It is the day when their movie, Ishq, released in cinemas in the year 1997. Indra Kumar’s superhit romantic comedy was released in 1997.
1997 was the year that the enterprising film made its way into the big crucial world of box office smash hits, with songs and comic scenes such as “Neend Churayi Meri” being relished by audiences even today. Released on November 28th, 1997, “Ishq” has been one of the most successful commercially-meaning, the third-highest-grossing Hindi film of the year. The love-comedy had a remake in Kannada, released as “Snehana Preethina” in 2007.
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn and Aamir Khan have recently hinted for a sequel to their successful romantic comedy, as both actors said they cannot wait to come together again. The reunion happened at the mahurat launch of the movie “Tera Yaar Hoon Main,” which marks the acting debut of filmmaker Indra Kumar’s son, Aman.
Gazing back at the period they spent together at the site of “Ishq,” Ajay expressed, “I was just telling him we had so much fun on the set of Ishq; we should do another one.” Aamir gave nod, saying, “We should, yaar!”

Ajay shared a collage of photos on his social media handles on Thursday morning. The first was from Ishq, where the actor posed with Kajol smiling, while the second showed one of the two twinning in black, posing and smiling as they always do. While, Ajay captioned this post very sweetly, “27 years of Ishq and ISHQ.
The internet felt embraced by a sweet appreciation post from Ajay for Kajol, his wife. One user wrote, “More beautiful nowadays (red heart emoji).” Another commented, “Yeh Ishq kabhi khatam nahi hoga (this love will never end).” A third comment read, “this is the most pyaara (sweet) thing I’ve seen all day and it’s not even 7 am yet.”
Ajay and Kajol’s Ishq
Ishq was not just the first common film for Ajay with Kajol but also had brought together two of his films with her- Guddu Dhanoa’s action-crime film Gundaraj and Anees Bazmee’s action thriller Hulchul both in the year 1995. They met again during the filming of Ishq which became their love nest in 1997; the other big reunion was in Anees’s 1998 show-stopper romantic comedy Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha. The couple married in 1999.
They had also worked together in action comedy film Raju Chacha directed by Anil Devgan in the year 2000, after which Kajol took a back seat from acting. In 2003 and 2010, they welcomed their daughter Nysa and son Yug. The couple has also shared some screen space in Ajay’s directorial debut film U Me Aur Hum in the Year 2008 and Om Raut’s historical drama Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior in the year 2020.
Kajol has other upcoming movies like Sarzameen or Maharagni: Queen of Queens. Meanwhile, Ajay is gearing up to start shooting for Raid 2, De De Pyaar De 2, Son of Sardar 2, and Azad. He will again direct Akshay Kumar in a feature film.
