Anurag Basu on Aashiqui 3 Casting Choices: Is ‘Pure Face’ the Real Reason for Triptii Dimri’s Exit?
There have been several instances stating that Triptii Dimri’s bold portrayals in movies Animal & Bad Newzz are making the producers think twice about including her in Aashiqui 3.
Rumors about Triptii Dimri’s alleged exclusion from Aashiqui 3, with Kartik Aaryan, for being too glamorous for any film, characterize the movie as having a “very innocent face requirement.” Now, Anurag Basu has also responded to those remarks.

Quite recently, multiple speculations had aired that the portrayal of Triptii as bold and hot in Animal and Bad Newzz healed up trouble because the producer now wanted to go to the all changed actor for the particular role in earlier planned for her.
The talking has since then veered around the filmmakers who were zeroing in on an actor who was supposed to have a “pure, innocent” look on the screen. But some very recent projects she did displayed her in exceedingly grown-up and plot-driven roles that didn’t exactly fall well within the purview of the filmmakers’ vision at this point of time.
“Tripti Dimri could not, according to the production house interested in casting her, be adjusted for this romantic film advertising purity in terms of behavior like the female leads in the very popular TV series Aashiqui 3. Aashiqui happens to be a popular love story-but personality-wise the lead cast members did not see the particular context fitting her,” a source said to Zoom.

The reason for it was whispered as Dimri’s bold and sensuous image in films like Bulbul and Bad Newzz, forcing producers into rethinking casting and opting for a different actor for the role originally intended for her. According to reports, the filmmakers wanted for the role “a pure, innocent’ face,” and the director regarded Triptii Dimri’s older portrayal in her recent projects as not matching that face.
The exact official statement from either party is neither clear nor assuredly visible to the people-but we listen to other meetings from across the ditch.
A source close to him contends the speculations appearing online. “There is absolutely no truth in the reports and reasons being circulated. The film is not in development, and so, any question of Triptii’s participation is imaginary. There isn’t any conversation going on about a movie of this kind.” When asked with regard to another reason for her exit, another source added: “It most likely could be either someone from the film who might be circulating the rumours to ensure Triptii is ousted from the movie.”

Considering the hustle and bustle, Anurag Basu has now come out of public and explained things himself. He said those words to Mid-day when confirming whether Triptii had been shown the door from Aashiqui 3 because of an ‘expose’ after a bold scene.
“No, for God’s sake, she knows it!” says Anurag Basu. “I cannot tell you more about this drama. ” Then, what had gained weight in controversy, Aashiqui 3 is still marked as postponed. The production is Bhushan Kumar’s, which will lend it an added power. Now, Mid-day has reported that casting is in full swing to choose the female lead. Its shooting is set to start later this month or early February.
Moving on Triptii
After leaving the romantic franchise, Triptii went on to be part of Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara, which was also to star Kartik. But, now, it has Shahid Kapoor in the lead. Shortly she will be getting busy with her role in Dharma Productions’ film Dhadak 2, which is directed by Shazia Iqbal. She is opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi in the film.
