Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has shared exciting details about the highly anticipated film Ramayana, helmed by acclaimed director Nitesh Tiwari. Kapoor, who plays the iconic role of Lord Ram, recently attended the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, where he spoke about the project during his session as a notable speaker.

He described the experience of becoming part of the film as his dream coming true while speaking from a grateful heart. He said that Part 1 of the two-part epic is complete and has praised the team behind this grand cinematic venture.

A Modern Adaptation of an Epic Tale

Coming as a product churned out with the intent to pay homage to the Indian culture and myth, it has come alive as Ramayana by Tiwari. This production is being done by Namit Malhotra who, of himself has declared that his passion for a genuinely authentic adaptation is as visually stunning as is being claimed in his name.

Child friend Malhotra, who has been constantly updated about the progress of the movie, says his producer friend speaks of these lines, “Namit has handpicked the best team of artists and creatives to bring this story to the big screen. His passion is unmatched, and it reflects in the project’s scale and authenticity.

Kapil was candid in a video where he spoke about his experience acting as Lord Ram during an interview at the Red Sea Film Festival. “It’s the greatest story and just being a part of it humbles me,” he said. He further said that the first part of this two-part franchise is shot while production for Part 2 will begin soon.

According to the words of Kapoor: “It is a story that beautifully portrays Indian culture, family dynamics, and husband-wife relationships. Playing Lord Ram is an honour that I will cherish forever.”

Cast includes: Sai Pallavi and Ravi Dubey

Joining Kapoor in this cinematic retelling of Ramayana are some of the most talented actors in Indian cinema. Sai Pallavi will essay the role of Sita, while Ravi Dubey will portray Lakshman. Both actors promise to bring their individual charm and acting excellence to the big screen as a family act.

The list of actors has also received superstar news, as Yash was finally finalized to play the antagonist, Ravan. More indeed for being supermassive and intense at celluloid, this role brings one of the biggest attractions to the iconic character.

As a matter of fact, Namit Malhotra has done a very visionary project.

Namit Malhotra is the producer behind this film and has spoken freely on the vision. In a thread on X, formerly Twitter, he shared his mission on the entry of Ramayana in the most authentic form of expression: “Our vision is to bring a sacred as well as visually striking film that is going to appeal to global audiences.”.

But Malhotra also confirms the release date: part 1 is coming Diwali 2026, while part 2 will come Diwali 2027. The calculated release can do wonders for the film to emerge as a landmark both culturally and cinematically.

Big Expectations from Nitesh Tiwari

Known for bringing to the fore great compelling storytelling alongside big sprawling visuals, Nitesh Tiwari of Dangal and Chhichhore fame only makes us expect more out of Ramayana. Now that all eyes are upon it, do not forget that people like him have in the past delivered cinematic miracles, so on the silver screen things can only be a fascinating spectacle.

Thus, Malayalam director, with the production wizardry of Malhotra, is to entertain viewers with yet another breathtakingly and emotionally moving film.

A Global Audience waits

To audiences familiar with the Ramayana, this is a story in its own right; but what brings it on as an international one are the subjects of morality, duty, and love. It will, at least, touch every corner of the world. Having a great cast, an intuitive director, and quality production values, this movie promises to take the storytelling to a whole new level from what has been done thus far within mythology.

This is interesting for fans because it shows them the first look of the promised cinematic masterpiece to redefine their view of Indian epics in films while Ranbir Kapoor continues to work on the Part 2 version.

Here with the help of Ramayana, film makers are doing much more than filming a movie-they’re bringing a phenomenon for the culture to witness. The movie cast great talents like Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, and Yash beside him in the film where he is playing Lord Ram in the movie. Only now is this epic tale unfolding as Part 1 gets wrapped up soon.

Mark 2026 on your calendars because Ramayana promises to light up the world through your screens and hearts.
