Actor Rashmika Mandanna shared a post, revealing her first look from the upcoming film Chhaava. On Tuesday, Maddock Films shared a joint post with Rashmika on Instagram. In the film, Rashmika will play the role of Maharani Yesubai.

In the posters, Rashmika was seen in a saree and heavy jewellery. In the first poster, she had covered her head and smiled. The actor had given a grim expression in the second poster.

A Story Adapted from Marathi Literature
Chhaava is not just a movie in the simple sense of the word, but an adaptation of a novel by Shivaji Sawant, Chhaava, a deep and penetrating novel into the life and legacy of Sambhaji Maharaj. It finds basis in literature, hence the movie is found on authenticity and history. With the major theme being one of India’s greatest warriors, it promises an emotional rollercoaster to enjoy as it takes one through the thrilling pages of history.
It will portray each battle, every fight, and every victory of Sambhaji Maharaj as he tried to save his kingdom and his people. Chhaava will depict how, under his leadership and bravery, he dedicated himself to the Maratha empire and fought for his people despite all odds.
About Chhaava
It is a period drama and Vicky Kaushal is in the lead role. Chhaava is ready to release in theaters on February 14 this year. In the film, Vicky will play the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Maharani Yesubai was the wife of the Maratha ruler and was called Chatrapati Maharani of the Maratha Kingdom.
The film, produced by Maddock Films and directed by Laxman Utekar, stars Akshaye Khanna among others. Chhaava is described as “a stirring tale of the courageous warrior whose coronation on this day in 1681 marked the beginning of a legendary reign.” Its trailer will be out on Wednesday.
Recently, Vicky attended the CNN-News18’s Indian Of The Year Awards, where he was felicitated with the Youth Icon Of 2024 honour. He said during the speech that when the director first discussed the project with him, the first thing that came on his mind is if he’d be able to do justice to the legacy of that historical figure.
