Varun Dhawan has now joined professional social network LinkedIn with a promise to share ‘behind-the-scenes glimpses of the world of film’.
Actor Varun Dhawan makes his debut on Thursday, but it is not in the films or on the screen. He has already garnered millions of followers on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter; he debuts on LinkedIn.

This is how Varun identified himself Thursday in the profile shared on the platform: ‘Passionate actor with over a decade of experience delivering cinematic excellence.’. His bio further went on to read, “From headlining 300-crore mega hits to exploring niche, content-driven films, my journey has been about balancing creativity with audience impact. Whether it’s leading a sports team in Student of the Year or exploring supernatural worlds in Bhediya, I believe in pushing boundaries and creating value for every stakeholder in the entertainment ecosystem.”
On Thursday morning, Varun posted his first post on Linkedin and termed it a ‘new chapter’. Speaking with his LinkedIn community, the actor wrote, “Someone who has been working in the film industry for a decade has been a great advantage to learn so much about the importance of hard work, teamwork, and constantly evolving.”
On what he wants to achieve on LinkedIn, a network largely for working professionals, Varun added: “What excites me most about being here is the opportunity to connect with professionals from all industries-not just entertainment. The lessons I’ve learned on set, from directors and producers and co-actors, shaped how I approach challenges, collaborate, and constantly push myself to do better.”
I will share insights, discussing creativity, leadership, and yes – even some behind-the-scenes glimpses of the world of film,” he had promised his followers in the post. “If there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s that there’s always something new to learn, no matter where you are in your career,” the Bhediya actor concluded the post. Within the first 24 hours of joining the platform, Varun had amassed over 20,000 followers on LinkedIn.
Varun’s work 2024
He has had a robust 2024 workwise. Varun was last seen headlining Citadel: Honey Bunny an Amazon Prime Video series from Raj & DK, which is touted to be a prequel to the Citadel starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. Apart from Varun, the show also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Before that, he reprised his role from Bhediya in cameos in two other Maddock Supernatural films – Munjya and Stree 2. The actor will be seen next in the action thriller Baby John. Directed by Kalees, the film also stars Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi, and releases in theaters on December 25.
Varun Dhawan on fatherhood
Varun said, “I think when any individual, any man becomes a parent, for the mother it is a different experience, I feel she becomes a tigress, that moment only something happens. But, as a man, I’d say, that when we become parents, for some reason, you feel a protection towards your daughter.”. I am sure you feel for sons also, but towards the daughter… If anyone causes even so much (little) harm to her I’d kill them. I am dead serious when I say that. I’d kill them literally.
He also thought back on his childhood. Reflecting on this, he said, “I started understanding my father, David Dhawan a little better, his insecurities, his hyper behaviour, his anxiety about, ‘Be home at time’. He’s calling my mom… He just wanted everyone to be together as a tribe, as a pack. I would never get it, I’d be like, ‘What is his issue?’ I am not a child, why does he want to keep me near him.”
