Virat Kohli Confronts Australian Media for Breaching Kids’ Privacy: “You Can’t Film Without Asking Me”

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, perhaps the most adorable power couples of Bollywood and cricket, have always been very tight-fisted about their kids’ privacy. The couple has just welcomed their second child, a boy by the name of Akaay, to join sister Vamika in the family fold. However, efforts to keep their kids under the radar proved to be of little avail when the Australian media attempted to photograph their kids without permission, leaving Kohli visibly irked.

The Incident at Melbourne Airport

This saga began with Virat Kohli being spotted confronting members of the Australian media at Melbourne Airport. In a video now viral on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), Kohli had his fair share of angst against reporters who attempted to click pictures of Vamika and Akaay without his permission. Wearing casual wear in a blue T-shirt and pants, a cap and with his ‘power glasses,’ the cricketer demanded respect for his family.

The video, as described, depicted an unwavering relationship that Kohli, while composed yet firm, had shown his deep concern to keep his children’s privacy intact. “You can’t film without asking me,” he said as this was not going to be tolerated.

Social Media Reacts

The video soon went viral on social media, causing much debate over celebrity privacy. Fans and followers appreciated Kohli for standing up against intrusive behavior, with many stressing the need for consent in photographing minors. “Celebrities are humans too. Respect their privacy,” one user wrote, while others called for stricter boundaries around media conduct, especially involving children.

A Protective Parenting Approach

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have kept their private life long; keep their children out of sight as much as possible. Ever since the birth of their son Akaay earlier this year on February 15, the couple has been based in London, spending all their time on family. They wanted to give them a normal upbringing free from all the public scrutiny, and that is why they hide their kids from the glare of media attention.

In a previous statement, the couple had said they would like privacy to be maintained as far as the spread of unauthorized photographs of their children. Even so, fans generally acquiesced, and it was the Melbourne Airport fracas that highlights the problems of being a parent in the public eye.

Moving to London

The Kohli-Sharma family’s bond with London is becoming stronger with each passing day. Reports indicate that they are going to make this city their permanent home. Childhood coach of Kohli, Rajkumar Sharma confirmed this development in a statement to Dainik Jagran. “Yes, Virat plans to move to London with his children and wife, Anushka Sharma. He is going to be leaving India and shifting very soon,” he revealed.

After staying to support the remaining team members throughout the contest, they did settle at a property, which Kohli owned at London for a quieter life with greater privacy for families there, as such plans have been discussed. However Kohli has stayed deeply absorbed in the game of cricket. His professional and other commitments balance accordingly.

Dilemma between Fame and Privacy:

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are among the most loved couples in India. Even so, the couple did not let public attention undermine their resolve on privacy. Thus, celebrities find it a challenge to maintain personal boundaries. The Melbourne Airport incident reminds one that even a public figure has the right to protect his family from unwarranted intrusion.

This Melbourne Airport incident puts quite clearly out the call to family secrecy from Virat Kohli. His very best will be able to keep discovering a very delicate balance between his international sporting fame and being a decent father before the camera of the world, though probably all of us here closely following the sports’ glamour hope the media and people around do respect those boundaries themselves set as well as set out by Anushka Sharma as well.
