Time passes! Talking about the film now on its 10th anniversary (on May 31) just brings back so many memories,” he states in all seriousness, adding, “The success was one aspect but what actually carry forward is all the lovely memories of actually making and spending time with other actors.”

Kunal revealed about the character he portrayed in the film

Speaking about how with his character Taran, the NRI who gets married to Aditi (Kalki Koechlin), the 44-year-old will prove that not everything about a funny cameo is just a funny cameo. He shares insights into what went into writing that part, and reciprocating conversations with the director.

“Taran is, like for example, a loved character in the sense that Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) sees something in this Taran and Aditi as a couple and that somehow changes his attitude a bit towards love and his priorities in life. Even Ayan and I were discussing quite a bit how Taran pretty much acts as a catalyst towards Bunny’s change of heart towards Naina. Perhaps that’s why my character still resonates and is remembered by people. It wasn’t just a funny one. It was something that brought about change,” the actor explains.

YJHD 2 becoming the third film crossing ₹300 crore worldwide

This is the movie coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama directed by Ayan Mukerji, which features Ranbir Kapoor along with Deepika Padukone and Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur. Upon its release, it was a major box office success, becoming the third film crossing ₹300 crore worldwide after 3 Idiots and Ek Tha Tiger.

Here’s what Ranbir Kapoor said about the sequel to Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani: Earlier, when visited by fans, Ranbir also touched on the topic of Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani sequel and said, “I think Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani would make a good sequel… Ayan also had a very nice story, I remember, but then he went into this Brahmastra journey. But, never say never. He might make it after a couple of years. I think the story will be 10 years forward where Bunny, Naina, Avi and Aditi, where they are in their lives. I think it’ll be quite interesting and nice to explore those characters.”
