The two distinct film industries, Bollywood and Hollywood, had a phenomenal year in 2024 with some movies that were power-packed both in their storytelling and the star cast.

Kalki 2898 AD
Kalki 2898 AD is a sci-fi epic featuring Prabhas in the lead role and tells the story of a warrior who tries to earn money illegally in a dystopian future. With the buoyant cast including names from Bollywood such as Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani in the leading roles along with Prabhas, it was directed by Nag Ashwin. The film earned approximately ₹1100 crores at the worldwide box office, thanks to its over-the-top graphics and extensive overseas release.
Stree 2
This Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer was a late entry in the semi-exclusive club o Bollywood Blockbuster of 2024. Approximately ₹850 crore was earned from the worldwide collection and directed by Amar Kaushik. This film is the fourth installment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe and is a direct sequel to Stree (2018). Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana star alongside the lead cast. There is also a special appearance by Varun Dhawan in the movie.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3
The sequel highly awaited by the fans of Kartik Aaryans Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Directed by Anees Bazmee, it starred Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan and Triptii Dimri in lead roles. This was a hearts-thumping movie of India which grossed an estimated ₹422 crores worldwide.
Singham Again
Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again continues that legacy so successfully built by his banging “cop universe.” Here, Ajay Devgn reprises perhaps the most original character ever built-Bajirao Singham-hence go in for a huge-high-octane action sequences meant to amaze fans. The approximately ₹300 crore monster then goes to fight for an action spectacle. Singham Again also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone among others.

The police have always been depicted in a negative light in films for quite a long time. Among the very first films that defined what a good policeman would be, there had been Singham and Gangaajal. Pushpa 2: The Rule
This is an Allu Arjun-starrer, and it’s just been a month since the film released. It’s already reached the crown of the highest grosser in Bollywood. The world collection of Pushpa 2: The Rule, according to Mythri Movie Makers, the official production company for the film, has exceeded the ₹1700 crore mark.
Allu Arjun thanked devoted fans when he spoke to the press at the “Thank You India” event regarding the phenomenal success of Pushpa 2: The Rule. He stated, “Let me tell you something on the number at the box office. This is just a figure; behind it is the people’s love. The number comes and goes, but the love in the hearts will never go away. Thank you for that love.”
It is directed by Sukumar, producing through Mythri Movie Makers and Muttamsetty Media. The film was joined by Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekawat, respectively. Hence, Allu Arjun plays his regular red sandalwood smuggling role.

Inside Out 2
It was again a sequel that appealed to audiences and almost made USD 1.7 billion worldwide: it followed Riley as she entered her teenage years and had a new assortment of tougher feelings. It was directed by Kelsey Mann and stars Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, and Kensington Tallman in the lead roles.
Deadpool & Wolverine
The Marvel film does not leave the race for highest box office grosser ever. The film stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Deadpool and Wolverine respectively. The film was directed by Shawn Levy. It earned over 1.138 billion us dollars.
Despicable Me 4
It pays off many times to reduce a lot for the minion characters in Despicable Me, as any producer knows quite well. Directed by Chris Renaud, Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, and Pierre Coffin voiced the main characters. The diced figure is around USD 969 million.
Dune: Segment Two
Dune: Part Two from Denis Villeneuve opened up for Paul Atreides with spectacular visuals and a very hot narrative about politics, power, and revolution. It grossed more than 714 million dollars worldwide.
Moana 2
This animated feature is yet another one rising to the Hollywood’s top-grossing movies. In the direction of David G Derrick, this film let out a story of a girl named Moana who wants to explore adventure to the far seas of Oceania. Total Gross US$ 725 million.
