Rajkumar Rao about the Sindoor Incident from their marriage , In an interview with Mojo story, Rajkumar appertained the most romantic moment of Patralekha applying the sindoor on his forehead to say, “In fact, that moment was a very spontaneous thing for me when Patralekha applied the sindoor on my forehead. I felt why is it only for her; she’s doing it with the sindoor and mangalsutra and chooda? I thought she had to put on so much, and what I am doing just putting on a ring. I just asked her, ‘You should also put some sindoor on me. This should be equal’.”
Rajkumar on knowing the meaning behind all the rituals
The actor said that he along with Patralekha was not comfortable with certain rituals, especially the vachans (vows) the bride has to take. “Even when we were going to have our pheras, we wanted to know what was Panda ji saying? We asked him the meaning behind every mantra. We weren’t comfortable with some of the vachans that Patralekha had to take. For instance, there was one vachan which said that she cannot get angry at me and I was like this one is not happening, it is not valid,” the actor said.
Rajkummar and Patralekha first cross paths in 2010. They tried their luck in the industry and starred as a couple in a music video, soon commencing dating. The couple got married on November 15, 2021, at Chandigarh. They celebrated their third wedding anniversary recently.

If someone was to look back at the first meeting with Rajkumar, Patralekhaa said in very different words that one could never imagine this man going on to have a successful career.
She said, “I had just seen LSD. His first film. And then, about three days later, one of my school friends called me, she also said, ‘Could you do this video for me, it’s a music video, and I am calling this other actor called Rajkummar. He was just in LSD.‘ I said, ‘Ruksana, no, I am not coming because I think he is very creepy and I was scared’. She was like, ‘Nothing will happen; we will send you a car, and why don’t you get your sister along with you?’ I was like, ‘Okay, let’s see.'”
The actor added, “I made my sister sit between me and Raj, and they started chit-chatting. I was feeling weird because he was that creepy guy from that movie. So, I was pinching her and said do not talk to him. And eventually, it was bit awkward, because the ride was also long from Mumbai to Pune. So, he was like, ‘Hey, what do you do?’ I am like, ‘I have done these couple of ads’. And the moment I said that, I saw there was some shift. And as the story goes, he had seen that particular ad and he was like, ‘I wanna marry this girl’.”
“It was during the three-day shoot for that music video that she fell for Rajkummar. He turned out to be a completely different human being, ‘someone who loved art and was passionate about his work’. And she kept falling more and more in love with him.”
