Sonakshi Sinha Replies to Her Pregnancy Controversy with a Witty Remark

Actors Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot earlier in June this year after a long relationship.
The two lovebirds created a huge buzz among their fans when they were spotted together outside a hospital. The newlyweds were also clicked together, which further escalated the pregnancy rumors. In a recent chat with Curly Tales, Sonakshi has finally put those rumors to rest with a witty and humorous response.

“I am invited to several dinners and lunches post-wedding, and yes, I wanted to say here I’m not pregnant. Mein bas moti ho chuki hu.” On that day someone congratulated him (Zaheer Iqbal). “Can we not enjoy our married life?” Zaheer then made a joke that “the next day her diet started.”
Sonakshi added, “It’s just been four months, and we are genuinely busy traveling so much. We’re enjoying life, and the lunches and dinners of other people aren’t ever-ending.” Zaheer then quipped, “Funny part is it came from nowhere. There’s a picture of us with our dog, and they were like, ‘Oh, she’s pregnant.’ I was like, how did it even relate?” Sonakshi then said, “People are mad.”
How Speculations about Sonakshi’s having a Baby started
In October, Sonakshi shared a photograph with Zaheer Iqbal, embracing a dog. The caption read, “Guess the pookie.” This initiated the rumor of pregnancy, and many congratulated the new couple in the comment section. “Congratulations on the pregnancy,” one comment read. Another user from Instagram mentioned, “Congrats for having a little one soon.”
After a long-term relationship of seven years, Sonakshi Sinha married Zaheer Iqbal on June 23, in an intimate wedding ceremony. The marriage was attended by family and close friends such as Huma Qureshi and Aditi Rao Hydari and continued with a grand reception attended by Bollywood stars like Rekha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Salman Khan and Richa Chadha.

Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth were captured in the frames of the camera. Sonakshi and Zaheer Iqbal dashed towards them to join in the group photograph. All giggled before posing for the photographers waiting outside at the location.
Sonakshi wore a red suit for the event and Zaheer had worn a black kurta and white pyjama. Aditi was spotted in a blue and gold suit. Siddharth had an attire with white kurta and dhoti. After the clicks, Siddharth walked away, but Aditi pleaded him to pose for the papz.

On June 23, they exchanged vows in a private gathering, at their home in Mumbai, on the presence of close family and friends. The couple had their wedding reception at Bastian, where many Bollywood celebrities were present. The post read as, “On this day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each other’s eye, we saw the purest form of love and decided to make it.”
During a chat with Lehren Retro, he said, “I really don’t complain. They are just humans. They may still be not so mature. I do well understand their pain and confusion. There is always a cultural reaction. Probably if I was their age, I would have had a very similar reaction to it. But here is where maturity, seniority, and experience come into play. Hence my reaction never was as extreme as my sons’.” He said he would support his daughter’s interfaith marriage:
“Of course, I will support my daughter. There is no reason for me not to. But it is their life-their marriage. They will have to live their life. So if they are sure about it, who are we to oppose it? As a parent-and as a father-it has been my duty to support her,” he added.
