EXCLUSIVE: Siddharth Anand to Direct Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan & Suhana Khan in King
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is teaming up with the ace filmmaker Siddharth Anand to do an action-packed spectacle called King. This multistarrer, which brings together Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan, will go on the floors in March 2025 and will be ready to storm the theatres in grand style in 2026.
SRK and Siddharth Anand: A Blockbuster Combination
Power House Jodi Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand came together for the first time with 2023 megahit Pathaan, a film that holds immense importance in YRF Spy Universe. Pathaan broke all box office records and became the first Hindi film to enter the Prestigious ₹500 crore club in India and set new benchmarks for commercial cinema. With great scale comes great grip and undeniable SRK charm, Pathaan is just a prologue to their next collaboration.
Sources close to the movie reveal that King has been in pre-production for six months plus. On board, under Anand’s hand, the team of the actioner has done several heavy-duty recces at untrodden foreign locations, and have been workshopping hard on edge action sequences in collaboration with some world-renowned stunt coordinators.
A stellar cast: Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan join the team
Along with Shah Rukh Khan, this would be his daughter Suhana Khan’s first film for which she has been granted a crucial role. Apparently, the new talent to town and heroine of The Archies forms the “key catalyst” to the story of the film. On the other hand, Abhishek Bachchan has been assigned the role of the antagonist in the movie and would add the much needed muscular dimension to the plot.
This movie is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Marflix. With that, this movie would surely be a cinematic extravaganza integrating gripping stories and breathtaking visuals. It has a script filled with action and emotion.
Structured in a way that every character does enjoy a very strong arc has been the script written on King by Sujoy Ghosh and team Siddharth Anand, Suresh Nair, and Sagar Pandya. Abbas Tyrewala is roped in by the producers for coming off Pathaan. Impressive dialogues written.
The makers thought of King as an action extravaganza to set a new benchmark in the Indian cinema arena at par with the world standard. The action block sequences are going to be most explosive ones that would ever have been witnessed in the Hindi film arena. SRK and Siddharth Anand want to surpass what they had achieved together earlier.
King will be shot within 6-7 months, and it is being planned to be shot in various exotic European locations and other virgin terrains. Both Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand are very excited with this project and have already begun preparations to deliver another unforgettable cinematic experience.
Reports suggest that an A-list actress is finalizing for the female lead opposite SRK. Final casting may be around the corner.
